They laugh, they joke, they could be goofy, they are fun-loving, they have spats; they do all the things that sisters do only Gunz and Lucky are sisters from another mother.
Jennifer "Gunz" Rocker & Samantha "Lucky" Plantagenet are undercover cops who, as a team, have been a part of some major takedowns. Gunz is white blonde and stunning from the get-go. Lucky is black, nerdy and professorial at first glance. Lucky's beauty comes on subtly even with her Coke bottle glasses. When she takes them off and lessens the brainiac focus she can be just as stunning as Gunz.
About those names. Jennifer got the moniker "Gunz" (or "Two Gunz" to some) because she was a crack shot in the Marines whose fellow reservists marveled at her expertise. Firearms are her passion and she revels in all manner of weaponry. "Lucky" (or "The Lucky Kid" to some) achieved her nickname because her mental prowess was such that people around her joked that she always had the "lucky" hand throwing 7-11s every time.
The original meetup. It was the LASD recruiting pitch that snared them. Gunz loved the Marines but wanted to expand out. She tried modeling for a season, hated it, and was looking for a job when she saw the LinkedIn post for police officers with military experience. Lucky was sitting in her room, programming and making music, living off her parents when her mother suggested that she might go crazy if she didn't get out of her room. After getting out of UCLA with a degree in computer science in three years, she did nothing but program, workout and make music on her laptop (her one true escape). Annoyed at this suggestion, she set out to show her parents that she could do anything and landed on the LASD recruiting ad. To everyone's surprise (and pride) she made it.
They met in the jails division and then were offered a kick-up when they were recruited by Sergeant Estella Vasquez to join her undercover operation. Two strangers. Only children in their families. And they found they loved not only being Sheriff's deputies but music. And so these two lonely souls bonded into a family. They would serve and protect. Be a part of Sergeant Vasquez's undercover operations (which they found thrilling) and make music. What's not to like?
Their alias became a real band, The Knockoutz, a cover band playing pop, and downtempo EDM, hip-hop. When they play, doors and possibilities open. Both could have been doing something else, but they chose to serve and protect and play that music!
And here on this Halloween weekend, what they thought was an easy assignment--where they would get to play their music while keeping a ho-hum, routine watch for other orders at an all expenses paid exclusive boutique hotel in Pasadena--they find that not only is nothing what it appears but that they are plunged into an inter-dimensional war with aliens who wish to subjugate the human race into abject slavery or outright destruction.
And Gunz and Lucky, along with a rag tag team of allies, have only got one Halloween weekend to figure it out.
